Professional Diploma Program - Including Free Regionally Accredited BA Registration

Unique in the World - FREE BA REGISTRATION!

On submission of your first Diploma test you will be registered as a student on the BA Program FREE OF CHARGE. In this way you will gain all the benefits and prestige of being a registered student of a Regionally Accredited Bachelor's Degree course, but without charge. Only if you wish to progress to the BA top-up course element on completion of the Diploma program will you be required to pay the separate BA course fees.

What's more, London Met's regulations allow for a period of up to eight years to pass between initial BA registration and completion of the Bachelor's course. On successful completion of the Professional Diploma Program you will be awarded the Rhodec Diploma, and will then be eligible to proceed to the BA Program proper, subject to the approval of London Met's internal and external examiners.

If you choose to "leave" the program on completion of the Diploma, you may also be awarded London Met's Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE), equivalent to an Associate's Degree. (Again, the award of the DipHE is subject to London Met's approval, not Rhodec's.) You could then take a break of perhaps a year or two, then re-register for the BA Program, and still comfortably complete within the eight-year timeframe.

Assessment

Your success in the Professional Diploma Program in Interior Design will be measured partly by continuous assessment of your work during the program and partly by the Final Test. This will evaluate your achievement over the whole program. We don't anticipate that you'll memorize all the material you read in our courses. Interior design work doesn't depend on how much information you can cram into your memory, but on whether you can apply the principles involved in any future design. Nor do we believe that interior design is a subject in which a student should be examined behind the closed doors of an examination room.

We want to simulate as far as possible the conditions under which a designer will work, so the Final Test is based on design projects which will be carried out under office conditions (in your own office or your home used as an office) and will then be submitted to Rhodec representing the client. In this way you'll be gaining practical experience of how work is carried out in a professional design studio, and any problems you encounter in running an office can be unraveled with our help.

Reference Material

We strongly encourage evidence of additional research, and maintain a large stock of useful reference books, drawing equipment and supplies for sale by mail order to students who may wish to add to their personal collections. No title is compulsory course reading, but some students who have limited library facilities may wish to collect extra reading materials in this manner.
